Tire vulcanizers are essential in the production of pneumatic tires used for cars, construction vehicles, tractors, and even airplanes. These machines were first introduced in the 1940s and have since evolved into highly efficient systems that handle multiple stages of tire manufacturing. From loading and shaping to vulcanization, unloading, post-charging, and cooling, the entire process can be automated with precision. Key parameters such as temperature, pressure, and steam chamber conditions are monitored, recorded, and controlled throughout the operation. There are several types of tire vulcanizers, with the most common being the AFV, BOM, and AUBO models. In China, these are often referred to as Type A, Type B, and Type AB respectively. The main differences between them lie in the design of the capsule and its handling mechanisms. The AFV-type vulcanizer is known for its simple structure. The lower mold does not include a complex central mechanism, only a single barrel. On the upper part of the upper mold, a pneumatic pusher mechanism is installed. During the final stage of vulcanization, the capsule is pushed into the bladder using a push-pull system. Once steam is introduced into the bladder, it exerts pressure that forces the capsule to extend into the inner cavity of the green tire. In contrast, the BOM-type vulcanizer uses chucks on both the upper and lower parts to secure the capsule. The expansion and contraction of the capsule are managed by a central water tank mechanism. When loading or unloading the tire, the capsule is straightened, and the inner cavity is evacuated while the capsule stands upright on the lower mold. The AUBO-type vulcanizer features a unique clamping ring system that secures the upper and lower ends of the capsule, allowing it to be retracted into the barrel. When the tire is loaded, the bladder rises, and the lower bead of the green tire makes contact with the steel ring on the bladder. The upper chuck then lifts, and under the influence of shaping steam pressure, the capsule expands inside the green tire. After the vulcanization process is complete, the bladder rises again, and the capsule is drawn back into the bladder by the upper chuck, while the lower chuck remains fixed. These advanced vulcanizing machines ensure high-quality tire production with consistent performance and efficiency. Whether it's a small car tire or a massive aircraft tire, the right type of vulcanizer plays a crucial role in meeting the demands of modern transportation.
