Israeli startup develops ultra-fast charging

According to the CNBC website, Israeli startup StoreDot has developed a new battery technology that aims to compress charging time to within a few minutes.

StoreDot is a lithium battery startup headquartered in Herzliya, Israel. The company announced last Tuesday (June 12, local time) that it has successfully recharged an electric scooter within five minutes. This electric scooter comes from Torrot of Spain.
It is worth mentioning that the above-mentioned display operation was jointly completed by StoreDot and a major global crude oil company BP, which is a strategic supporter of StoreDot. The two companies jointly announced that this is the first time that the charging time of an electric two-wheeler has been reduced to a few minutes.
StoreDot CEO Dorn Millsdorf pointed out in an interview with a CNBC reporter last Tuesday: "We used Torrot electric scooters to demonstrate the technical strength we have."
He also pointed out that this is also the company's first demonstration that it takes only five minutes to fully charge a battery pack containing a large number of battery cells. The number of internal battery cells reaches 168.
In addition to BP, StoreDot also attracts Mercedes-Benz owner Daimler Group and technology giant Samsung to invest in it. It is worth mentioning that StoreDot was previously headlined because it boasted that the battery charging time of the launched mobile phone is only five minutes.
Dorn Millsdorf told reporters: "We are developing a new generation of lithium batteries. More specifically, this battery will no longer use graphite materials."
He explained that the reason why graphite materials were abandoned was that graphite materials could not function effectively during the rapid charging process.
StoreDot will add a mixture of tin, germanium and silicon and some other organic compounds to the raw materials for the production of new generation batteries. The company said that the above adjustments will provide a better solution for lithium batteries than the battery cells used in most consumer electronics products.
