State Grid and General Electric promote smart grid standardization

Recently, the State Grid Corporation of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and General Electric Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding for the strategic cooperation of smart grid technologies through friendly consultations. The three parties will implement the principle of equality, mutual benefit, complementation of advantages, and win-win cooperation to achieve complementary resources and services. Social development and the sharing of achievements and experience are the goals and jointly promote the standardization of smart grid construction.

According to the memorandum of cooperation, the three parties will work together on standardization in the smart grid-related technologies such as charging and discharging of electric vehicles, grid connection of large-capacity energy storage systems, sensor-related technologies, distributed power supply, and microgrids, including technical exchanges and alliances. Hold technical standards seminars, collaborate to propose new national standards or international standards, etc.

It is reported that the State Grid Corporation of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the General Electric Company will establish a coordination group responsible for tripartite cooperation and lead and coordinate the development of specific cooperation. The coordination team will convene coordination meetings as needed to study major cooperation issues, check, summarize, and deploy related work.
