Advance logs tell you how to use sapwood

As a "frequent guest" in mahogany furniture, sapwood is often used by some black-hearted enterprises to transform. Although the use of sapwood is not good, it is not impossible to use. Today, the advancement of log furniture tells you how to use sapwood.

How to use sapwood?

The use of sapwood should be cautious, and the use of sapwood is a sensitive topic. According to statistics, 90 % of the national lawsuits concerning mahogany furniture are related to timber. Of these 90 %, more than 50 % are related to sapwood, so mahogany companies must take it seriously.

Moreover, due to differences in the understanding of standards between law enforcement departments and courts, as well as some local standards, this increases the risk of using sapwood, so the company’s use of sapwood is It is not just a matter of "seriously treating", but also corresponding risk prevention and mitigation measures.

1. Do not use sapwood.

There are two ways to "do not use sapwood":

One is to select the wool without sapwood when selecting materials;

The other is that the wool has sapwood locally, but the sapwood is dug out and is filled with the same heart material. Although it is not as good as the whole material, it is all heartwood and the material is not fake.

The original Beijing National Palace Museum wood expert Hu Desheng agrees with the excavation method. He said that many of the furniture in the Forbidden City are done this way. To make furniture for the royal family, it is said that it is carefully selected, but it still has to be dug, indicating Even the extravagant places in the palace know that the wood is like gold. Why can't we do this?

2. Conditional use of sapwood.

This "conditional" is within the scope of the "Dark and expensive hardwood furniture" standard. However, once the sapwood is used conditionally, the next thing is necessary:

1 ) In the product manual (must have, this is the national mandatory standard) and the sales contract must indicate that your furniture is implemented in the QB/T2385-2008 standard ("Dark and expensive hardwood furniture" standard).

2 ) In the label of the goods (the label used in the place of sale) and the sales contract, after the material (material), add a bracket and write "with a small amount of sapwood". For example, if your furniture is made of red rosewood, then you will write "red rosewood (with a small amount of sapwood)", without parentheses is absolutely impossible. If a consumer asks the quality inspection department to inspect the furniture materials, the material written on the contract is “red rosewood” , then the quality inspection department will use GB/T18107-2000 (the “redwood” standard) to measure, here the “red rosewood” ", it defaults to "all red rosewood", that is, it does not allow sapwood, and if the furniture contains sapwood, it does not match the "standard" in the contract, the court can judge the manufacturer or The seller is fraudulent or sold for sale.

Note: Never use sapwood over the limit: If you use sapwood conditionally, you still need the explicit way as above, then the use of sapwood is absolutely not allowed, so don't take the risk.

About dyeing and lacquering: Since the color of the sapwood is lighter than the heartwood, for the sake of aesthetics, the manufacturer often dyes the sapwood portion and dyes it to be consistent with or close to the color of the heartwood. If the manufacturer is using sapwood reasonably, that is, using sapwood without exceeding the standard and not violating the rules, this is ok. However, if the manufacturer exceeds the standard or illegally uses the sapwood and then uses the dyeing method, it is intentionally concealing the shackles and fraud, which is not desirable.

Geotextile, also known as geotextile, is a water-permeable geosynthetic material made of synthetic fibers by needling or weaving. Geotextile is one of the new materials, geosynthetics. The finished product is cloth-like, with a width of 4-6 meters and a length of 50-100 meters. Geotextiles are divided into woven geotextiles and non-woven filament geotextiles.
Features
1. High strength. Due to the use of plastic fibers, it can maintain sufficient strength and elongation in dry and wet conditions.
2. Corrosion resistance, long-term corrosion resistance in soil and water with different pH.
3. Good water permeability There is a gap between the fibers, so it has good water permeability.
4. Good anti-microbial resistance No damage to microorganisms and insects.
5. Convenient construction. Because the material is light and soft, it is convenient to transport, lay and construct.
6, complete specifications: width up to 9 meters. It is the widest product in China, the mass per unit area: 100-1000g / m2
effect
1: isolation
Use of polyester staple fiber needle punched geotextiles for building materials with different physical properties (particle size, distribution, consistency, density, etc.)
Materials (such as soil and sand, soil and concrete, etc.). Prevent two or more materials from being lost and mixed
The overall structure and function of the materials enhance the carrying capacity of the structure.
2: filtration (reverse filtration)
When the water flows from the fine soil layer into the coarse soil layer, the good air permeability and water permeability of the polyester staple fiber needled geotextile are used to make the water flow
Through, it effectively intercepts soil particles, fine sand, small stones, etc. to maintain the stability of soil and water engineering.
3: drainage
Polyester staple fiber needle punched geotextile has good water conductivity, it can form drainage channels inside the soil,
Residual liquid and gas are discharged.
4: reinforcement
Polyester staple fiber needle punched geotextile is used to enhance the tensile strength and deformation resistance of the soil and enhance the stability of the building structure in order to improve
Good soil quality.
5: Protection
When water flow scours the soil, it effectively diffuses, transfers or decomposes the concentrated stress, prevents the soil from being damaged by external forces, and protects the soil.
6: puncture prevention
Combined with geomembrane to form a composite waterproof and anti-seepage material, which plays the role of puncture prevention.
High tensile strength, good permeability, breathability, high temperature resistance, freeze resistance, aging resistance, corrosion resistance, and no moth.
Polyester staple fiber geotextile is a widely used geosynthetic material. Widely used in the reinforcement of railway subgrade and highway pavement
Maintenance, sports hall, dam protection, isolation of hydraulic structures, tunnels, beaches, reclamation, environmental protection and other projects.
Features
Light weight, low cost, corrosion resistance, excellent performances such as reverse filtration, drainage, isolation, and enhancement.
use
Widely used in geotechnical engineering such as water conservancy, electricity, mines, roads and railways:
l Filter material for soil separation;
2. Drainage materials for the beneficiation of reservoirs and mines, drainage materials for the foundations of high-rise buildings;
3. Anti-scouring materials for river dykes and slope protection;
4. Reinforcing materials for railways, highways, and airport running road foundations, and road-reinforcing materials for swamps;
5. Anti-frost and anti-freeze insulation materials;
6. Anti-cracking material for asphalt pavement.
