Method for reducing edible fungus pests

1 , keep the mushroom field clean

Before starting mushroom cultivation, it's essential to thoroughly clean the growing area. This includes removing any debris, old substrates, or leftover materials that could harbor pests or diseases. Once cleaned, apply a solution of trichlorfon or dichlorvos at a dilution of 800 times to ensure even coverage. For outdoor setups, clear the surrounding area of weeds and spray the soil and site with a 250-times diluted trichlorfon solution to prevent infestations.

2 , prevent adult insects from entering the room

To protect indoor mushroom cultivation areas from pests, all doors, windows, and ventilation openings should be fitted with fine mesh screens (60-mesh) to block out adult insects such as flies and mushroom mosquitoes. This preventive measure significantly reduces the risk of pest infestation during the growing phase.

      3 , drug smoked

In closed environments, use aluminum phosphide fumigation chambers in quantities of 2–3 per cubic meter to eliminate insect pests. Ensure proper sealing of the space during treatment to maximize effectiveness and safety. This method is especially useful for controlling hidden infestations within the growing medium.

      4 , processing culture materials

For each 50 kg of culture medium, mix 15 ml of dicofol with 10 kg of water and spray the mixture evenly over the material. This helps control pests before they become a problem. After spraying, allow the material to sit for three days before proceeding with inoculation. Alternatively, you can use a 40% phoxim solution diluted 500 times for effective pest control during the preparation stage.

      5 , spraying insecticide

If pests are detected early, apply a 500-times diluted trichlorfon solution, a 1000-times diluted "enemy killing" solution, or an 800-times diluted dichlorvos solution to the bed surface. These treatments help disinfect and control pests effectively. (Source: Dunhuang City Agricultural Broadcasting School, Wang Cuixia, Wang Cuiying)
