Prospects for China's wind power industry are still promising

“The development of renewable energy is an inevitable choice for China,” said Du Guangping, senior member of the Wind Energy Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society, in Beijing on the 13th. The prospects for China's wind power industry are still promising, but there are two problems in mastering core technologies and enhancing development capabilities. Need to solve, otherwise the future wind power industry will face greater risks.

According to the "Power Industry Operation Profile for January-July 2013" released by the China Electricity Council, the growth rate of China's domestic wind power generation has been declining for three consecutive years. Can the wind power industry "warm up"? How to solve the difficulties of wind power development? At the theme salon “Analysis of Wind Power Industry Development Status at Home and Abroad and Prospect Analysis of China’s Wind Power” sponsored by the All-China New Energy Chamber of Commerce, Du Guangping analyzed this.

Du Guangping said that in 2012, the global installed capacity of wind power reached a record high of 44.95 million kilowatts. The total installed capacity of offshore wind power also more than doubled. In China, as of June 30, 2013, the new wind power installed capacity was 5.5 million kilowatts, with a cumulative installed capacity of 80.82 million kilowatts, which has become a third-party power source for coal-fired power and hydropower.

Based on the development of global wind power in 2012, there are reports that the global economic value of wind power will increase from 57.7 billion euros in 2012 to 85.4 billion euros in 2017.

Under the current situation that the growth rate of new installed capacity of onshore wind power has slowed down, offshore wind power has risen. According to Du Guangping, the latest survey shows that in the coming years, the global offshore wind power equipment market will grow at an average annual rate of 30%. In 2015, the installed capacity of global offshore wind farms will reach 5,761 megawatts.

The first offshore wind farm demonstration project in China, the Shanghai Donghai Bridge 102 MW offshore wind farm project, has also been successfully put into operation. In the first three quarters of this year, the project generated 194 million kWh of electricity.

Du Guangping believes that in order to reach the goal of energy cleanliness of “non-fossil energy accounting for 15% of primary energy consumption in 2020”, the wind power industry in China will develop steadily over the next five years.

“The wind power grid connection technology and management level and the overall competitiveness of the wind power equipment industry need to be improved”, the former Vestas senior technical consultant and chief engineer of the current Jian Heng Certification Center also pointed out that the electricity price policy and subsidy mechanism for wind power Etc. also need to be further improved.

Thiocyanate (also known as rhodanide) is the anion [SCN]−. It is the conjugate base of thiocyanic acid. Common derivatives include the colourless salts Potassium Thiocyanate and Sodium Thiocyanate. Organic compounds containing the functional group SCN are also called thiocyanates. Mercury(II) thiocyanate was formerly used in pyrotechnics.

Thiocyanate is analogous to the cyanate ion, [OCN]−, wherein oxygen is replaced by sulfur. [SCN]− is one of the pseudohalides, due to the similarity of its reactions to that of halide ions. Thiocyanate used to be known as rhodanide (from a Greek word for rose) because of the red colour of its complexes with iron. Thiocyanate is produced by the reaction of elemental sulfur or thiosulfate with cyanide

Thiocyanate[4] is known to be an important part in the biosynthesis of hypothiocyanite by a lactoperoxidase.[5][6][7] Thus the complete absence of thiocyanate[8] or reduced thiocyanate[9] in the human body, (e.g., cystic fibrosis) is damaging to the human host defense system.[10][11]

Thiocyanate is a potent competitive inhibitor of the thyroid sodium-iodide symporter.[12] Iodine is an essential component of thyroxine. Since thiocyanates will decrease iodide transport into the thyroid follicular cell, they will decrease the amount of thyroxine produced by the thyroid gland. As such, foodstuffs containing thiocyanate are best avoided by Iodide deficient hypothyroid patients.[13]

In the early 20th century, thiocyanate was used in the treatment of hypertension, but it is no longer used because of associated toxicity.[14] Sodium nitroprusside, a metabolite of which is thiocyanate, is however still used for the treatment of a hypertensive emergency. Rhodanese catalyzes the reaction of sodium nitroprusside with thiosulfate to form the metabolite thiocyanate

Our main Thiocyanates are Sodium Thiocyanate, Potassium Thiocyanate, ammonium thiocyanate.
