Canadian plastic packaging recycling rate is gradually increasing
[Jiuzhi Plastics News] According to the latest statistics, the recovery rate of plastic packaging after consumption in Canada is gradually increasing, although the growth rate is not large.
According to a survey by the Canadian Plastics Industry Association, in 2015, the amount of post-consumer plastic packaging recycling increased by 0.4% over the previous year. According to the organization, at least 322 million kilograms of post-consumer plastic packaging in Canada was recycled in 2015, an increase of about 1.3 million kilograms from the previous year. These data are the result of voluntary surveys by recycling device manufacturers, exporters, material recycling facilities and other relevant agencies.
Among these recycled plastic packaging, high-density polyethylene bottles account for a very large proportion, and their recycling volume has increased by about 5.7 million kilograms. Other categories of recycled plastic packaging add up to approximately 4.4 million kilograms. The association also said that recycled plastic packaging includes plastic bottles, food packaging for delicatessens and bakeries, as well as dairy products, production containers and some films.
