Introduction to compaction machinery

On the other hand, groove and sheep-foot rollers apply greater pressure and can compact deeper layers. These are best suited for roadbeds, embankments, and dam construction where high density is required.

Tire rollers offer flexibility with adjustable tire pressure, allowing for increased or reduced weight and unit pressure. This feature helps achieve even compaction with a smashing effect, making them suitable for road surfaces, parking lots, and public squares. They are gentle on the road surface and often used for cushion layers and base courses in paving projects.
