Cotton seedling management is critical

Whether cotton seedlings can be fully established after sowing is crucial for achieving high cotton yields. To gain more insights, the reporter spoke with Xu Fengzhi, an expert from Xinqiu Cotton Research Institute under Xinqiu Seed Industry. Xu explained that after the cotton plants emerge, it's essential to inspect the field and promptly replace any missing or weak seedlings. The timing of replanting depends on the age of the seedlings. Typically, transplants are done before the true leaves appear, while soil removal is carried out after the true leaves have emerged. Once the seedlings are planted, the fields often show uneven growth. It’s important to remove weak, small, or unhealthy plants, leaving 2 to 3 strong ones per hole. These should be selected when they have developed at least one true leaf before being fixed in place. For fields where seeds were sown first, seedlings should be placed correctly once they emerge. The best time to do this is during the afternoon on a sunny, windless day, ensuring that only healthy, green seedlings are used. Early plowing is also important, especially in wet spring seasons. During the seedling stage, frequent cultivation isn’t necessary, but timely tilling is key to keep the soil around the plants loose and well-aerated. For light-salt soils exposed to open fields, increased inter-row cultivation is recommended. If there are severe diseases during the seedling stage, root baking may be required to prevent further damage. In fields where sufficient base fertilizer has been applied, additional seedling fertilizer may not be needed. However, for fields with poor base fertilizer application or inadequate water and nutrients, applying about 5 kg of nitrogen fertilizer per mu is advisable. This can be combined with organic fertilizers like cake manure or compost to improve soil quality. To avoid lowering the ground temperature, watering is generally not recommended before sowing. However, if the soil is dry and the seedling stage remains dry, shallow ditches should be filled with small amounts of water, followed by timely tilling. In mulched fields, topdressing and watering are usually avoided unless necessary, as the base fertilizer and bottom stalk development have already been properly managed. *Henan Science and Technology News*

Natural Gas Mass Flow Meter

Zhejiang Sealand Technology Co., Ltd. is a trustworthy manufacturer of Natural Gas Mass Flow Meter, Natural Gas Mass Flowmeter, Natural Gas Coriolis Meter, Natural Gas Coriolis Mass Flow Meter, ATEX, IECEx & CE approved.

First, Sealand meter is certified by Zhejiang Institute of Metrology. To get such certificate, Sealand has to send all models to Zhejiang Institute of Metrology and all models are tested in their calibration lab. The lab is an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard lab approved by CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment). CNAS is a member of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).

Second, Sealand has its own calibration lab, equipped with METTLER TOLEDO scales with accuracy 0.014% and the device extended uncertainty is 0.05%. The lab is also approved by Zhejiang Institute of Metrology. This certificate will stay valid only for one year, Zhejiang Institute of Metrology will send their professor to Sealand every year to check and make sure that the lab is qualified still and then issue new certificate. During the production, each meter will be calibrated in this lab for 3 times, each time at 5 different flow rate.

Finally, Sealand also gets ISO, CE, SIL, ATEX & IECEx. Sealand is the only Chinese brand who gets ATEX & IECEx and it is from TUV SUD ( the most authoritative institute for ATEX).
