This set of four round chairs is a remarkable example of traditional Chinese craftsmanship from the 18th century. The handrails are not attached at the top but are instead connected to the front legs, creating a unique and elegant structure. At the joints, there are intricate corner teeth that add visual interest and reinforce the construction.

The backboard is divided into three sections. The upper part features a hollowed-out design, while the lower section is smooth and polished. In the middle, a piece of marble is inlaid, displaying a texture and pattern that resemble rolling hills after a snowfall—soft, elegant, and full of natural beauty. This particular chair represents the "Winter" season in a series that includes Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, each with its own distinct marble pattern.

The chair's side panels are carefully crafted, though they remain narrow and do not feature additional decorative elements. This simplicity enhances the overall clarity of the design, making the cockerel-shaped door stand out with a striking presence. Compared to typical Ming-style chairs, this piece has a more rigid and structured line, giving it a refined and timeless appearance.
