Various reform measures help the development of Hubei furniture industry
In recent months, the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Commerce reported that from January to October, the district's total industrial output value above the designated size reached 13.37 billion yuan, with an increase of 12% compared to the previous year. The added value of industry stood at 3.65 billion yuan, rising by 15.1%. Additionally, completed industrial investment amounted to 5.87 billion yuan, showing a significant growth of 18.4%. Notably, key industries such as furniture manufacturing continued to perform strongly, maintaining growth rates exceeding 10%.
With the rapid economic development in Hubei Province, the government has introduced a series of supportive policies aimed at boosting regional economic growth. Recently, it was announced by the Xiangyang City Development and Reform Commission that according to the newly released National Logistics Park Development Plan (2013–2020), Wuhan has been designated as a first-tier city for logistics park layout, while Xiangyang and Yichang have been included in the second-tier category.
The plan categorizes cities based on their logistics demand and strategic importance, dividing them into three levels. It includes 29 first-tier cities and 70 second-tier cities across the country. Provincial authorities will implement national-level logistics park demonstration projects, with selected sites becoming model logistics parks eligible for policy support, including land and financial incentives. This development is a major opportunity for the furniture industry, as improved logistics efficiency will likely attract more furniture companies to invest in Hubei.
It is expected that these government-backed initiatives will further accelerate the growth of Hubei’s furniture sector. The 2014 Wuhan International Furniture Fair is also preparing to provide the best platform for furniture companies to showcase their products and expand their market presence.
