Ministry of Commerce: Developing a policy to support the development of the photovoltaic industry

Summary of Ministry of Commerce Spokesman Shen Danyang, 18, responded at a regular press conference, stating that this year, domestic photovoltaic products have faced "double reverse" investigations from the United States, the European Union, and other countries. As a result, many companies have been forced to halt production or shut down entirely. In response, the government is currently reviewing and developing policies aimed at supporting the sustainable growth of the photovoltaic sector.

At the press conference held on the 18th, Shen Danyang noted that since the beginning of the year, Chinese PV products have come under investigation by several major markets, which has put significant pressure on local manufacturers. To address this, the state is actively working on formulating supportive measures to ensure the industry continues to develop in a healthy and stable manner. The Ministry of Commerce will play an active role in these efforts.

The Ministry of Commerce has introduced four key initiatives to support the photovoltaic industry: first, actively assisting PV companies in dealing with foreign anti-dumping and countervailing investigations; second, helping enterprises explore new and emerging markets to maintain their presence in the global PV landscape. Third, implementing measures to regulate the import and export activities within the industry. Lastly, promoting closer international cooperation between China’s photovoltaic sector and its counterparts in Europe and the United States.

Shen Danyang also emphasized that discussions and support for domestic companies facing these challenges are currently underway. He expressed confidence that through coordinated efforts, the industry can overcome current difficulties and continue to grow in the long term.
